Carl has launched and sold five successful niche magazines; at 27 he started the first microcomputer magazines for professional programmers Computer Language, AI Expert, and the conference/tradeshow Software Development. Ten years later he started the leading craft beer and wine hobby magazines Brew Your Own and WineMaker and the trade magazine BrewPub.

He has sold all of his magazines and has dedicated his professional life to teaching small to medium size magazine publishers how to become more successful!

Nancy "Clutch" O'Brien

Nancy has had the misfortune of teaming up with Carl and co-teaches the Camp Niche Jamboree. She has been involved with aviation publications for the past 20 years. She was the publisher of Phillips Business Aviation Maintenance for 11 years. Presently she works for Aviation International News.

She's a b-to-b publishing vet and previously worked at Petroleum Engineer, Oil & Gas Journal, and Electric Light & Power.

Rebekah has worked in publishing for over 15 years, with experience in consumer, b2b, and academic periodicals. Rebekah is currently Sales & Marketing Director for University of California Press, Journals + Digital Publishing where she is responsible for 35 titles, several of which have circulation of under 500. (Talk about a niche!)

Back in the day, Rebekah was the first employee of Niche Publications and helped Carl launch Brew Your Own.
